Thanksgiving, Balloons, and Christmas Trees

We've been having a lot of fun lately in our little town! For Thanksgiving we had Christy, Ryan and Noah visit! We were so thankful to have family with us and to be able to have so much fun with them. The boys loved having Noah to play with. The only dissapointment was that Garrett and Chris both got the flu on Friday causing Chris to have to miss his big hiking trip to the Grand Canyon! Sorry Chris! He hopes to go in February though.
This past weekend was full of excitement, we got our Christmas tree and enjoyed the Red Rock Balloon Festival. The balloons took off only a few miles from our house so Saturday we watched them from our living room window before we went to get our tree and then in the evening we met some friends for the Balloominaria (Balloons, Luminaria :) ). Sunday morning we got up early and went to the Park to watch the balloons take off. It was soooo cool! We have decided next year to go even earlier so that we can be on top of the rocks as they float by. Garrett thought it was pretty special and has informed us that when he gets bigger he is going to ride in them - which is entirely possible since you can help crew in the balloons during the festival and then often get a ride.

Family Pictures

Here are some of our family pictures. Saturday was a beautiful fall day, with a great sunset so we hiked out to Resurrection Rock for some pictures. Some we are saving for our family Christmas card.

Mama, Don't let Your Sons Grow up to be Cowboys

Howdy y'all, and happy Halloween! We had a lot of fun carving our pumpkins with the girls Nikki babysits and are enjoying the roasted seeds! As you can see we also had a great time dressing the boys up as cowboys - they had fun too! They went trick-or-treating with Zoe and got more than enough candy for their little teeth...

Happy 28th Birthday Chris!

Above and below are recent pictures. Above: Clayton is now wanting to be my helper, so he recently helped me bake cookies, he loved the measuring spoon and has also become quite the ham. He loves to say "chee". This past weekend we went to Durango with our friends Zach and Laura and their girls Zoe and Marley to see the fall colors and celebrate Chris' birthday. We also went to a train museum with the boys and to a pumpkin patch.

The boys continue to grow and change. Clayton has so many words and is so funny. He wants to do EVERYTHING that Garrett does - not always a good thing. Garrett is potty-training and is pretty proud of the fact that big boys wear underwear. He is still enamored by Clayton and it's so much fun to see the close bond of brotherhood and friendship developing.

Below: We celebrated Chris' birthday over the course of 3 weeks, I bought him a bike, but if you know Chris well you know that our bank account is viewed daily, read I keep no secrets, so he got to enjoy his bike early - and so did the boys. Also, Garrett got a "cooter" and amazing of all amazing moments - if you know Garrett you know why we were so shocked - our shy little boy got on the stage in front of our whole church and sang "Jesus Loves Me".
